Homepage at a Glance
Boasting an array of services and specialities, the team at Foster Services Group wanted a homepage that would make their extensive offerings clear without appearing cluttered and confusing.
To make it happen, we employed large visuals to break up sections and bright, appealing buttons to encourage navigation to other pages, grouping similar services within the same space whenever possible.
Easy Navigation for Diverse Clients
Since FSG serves all sectors of the automotive industry, from manufacturers to vendors to dealers and individuals, they wanted information organized in a way that made navigation intuitive for all visitors.
Working around the Foster’s busy travel schedule, we communicated via phone calls, emails and texts to gain a full understanding of FSG’s client-base and services. With a clear understanding of how FSG’s clients interact with the company and its services, we created separate tabs for each client type, with sub-tabs for each specific service.
Integrating Mini Navigation
To keep site visitors moving through FSG’s client-specific services, we kept sub-tab navigation subtle but prominent within each drop-down page.
Integrating Friendly Graphics
Knowing that FSG required lots of information-heavy text throughout their site, we employed simple, friendly-looking graphics to both highlight section topics and break up text-heavy spaces.
In choosing graphics, we chose images that had hints of FSG’s main colors (teal-blue and black), alongside bolder, complementary colors (yellow and red).
FSG founder Laurie Foster maintains a strong LinkedIn page with thousands of connections and a growing following for her posts. Recognizing the networking benefits of her account, Foster was eager to leverage her LinkedIn on FSG’s new website.
Plug-ins that embed LinkedIn within websites, however, start at $49 per month (a hefty addition to the budget!). Both to save money and keep site maintenance quick and easy for Foster, we created a blog that mirrors her LinkedIn posts and also links back to them.
Keeping in Contact
We tailored Foster Strategies’ contact form to the company’s needs, with clarifying placeholder text (in the grey boxes) and a drop-down selection that’s easy to read on both desktop and mobile devices.
Since many of FSG’s clients hear about the company at automotive conferences and networking events, we wanted to make sure that Laurie’s recognizable business card was featured on the site, in addition to links to the company’s social media accounts.
